Covid 19....Our Commitment To You
We are following Cornwall County Council’s guidelines ;
Government's 5 Steps to working Safely
- Carry out a COVID19 Risk Assessment (this document)
- Develop cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures (providing soap)
- Help people to work from home (not possible in this instance)
- Maintain 1m+ social distancing, where possible (signs to remind guests)
- Where people cannot be 1m+ apart, manage the transmission risk (balconies)
Cornwall Coastal Holidays
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU;
Each apartment will undertake a rigorous cleaning regime, as set out in Cornwall County Council’s guidelines;
2 STAGE CLEAN; Pre clean all surfaces (work tops and hard floors) with warm soapy water (detergent/degreaser removes the fatty outer layer of the virus, making it unable to attach to surfaces) then go over these areas with normal disinfectant (including frequently touched areas that may not normally be included in a clean eg. Light switches, door handles, laminated handbooks, parking permits, key safe & keys etc) to kill the virus core. Any cloths used for cleaning will be disposable.
Unfortunately we have had to remove certain items from the properties that cause extra cleaning issues, such as cushions, throws and outdoor seat covers, as the cost involved in purchasing spare sets of everything outweighs removing them from the property at this time. We do not feel it will impact on your enjoyment, as they are non essential items. We have, however, invested in further mattress protectors, pillow protectors, and bedding, as well as linen bags.
All soft furnishings (sofas and foot stools) will be hoovered, and sprayed with an antiviral spray which kills viruses.
SOAP / PROMOTING FREQUENT HANDWASHING
We will provide a new bar of soap at each sink for new guests, for use whilst staying within the apartment. Please dispose of it prior to leaving the apartment.
YOUR COMMITMENT TO US;
The apartments in Porthtowan both have balconies. We have moved the furniture to ensure it is situated more than 1m+ metres from the adjoining balconies. Please do not reposition the furniture when on the balcony, as it has been placed there for both yours, and the neighbouring apartment’s guests, safety. There are social distancing notices to remind you to keep your distance from those in the adjoining balconies.
PORTHTOWAN ; Please EMPTY ALL BINS AND DOUBLE BAG YOUR RUBBISH IN BLACK BAGS (provided) and ensure it is placed in the bin store prior to your departure on Friday, which allows 72 hours (guidelines) before it is collected on Monday by the Waste Disposal company. (In the apartment you will find guidelines – I mistakenly wrote wheelie bin on the laminate – it should read binstore FYI).
PERRANPORTH ; Please do as above. Surf’s Up’s bins are also collected on Mondays from the wheelie bins by St Pirans Road. Therefore, please take any waste produced between Friday and Saturday morning, when you vacate the property, with you, ensuring our cleaners do not have to deal with any waste. Thank you.
Please remember to dispose of the soap supplied at the beginning of your stay, and anything left on the welcome tray, as new will be provided for the next guests.
Please DO NOT LEAVE any uneaten produce in the cupboards or fridge for future guests.
BEDDING: (Government guidelines)
On arrival beds will be made up. Please, PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE, STRIP ALL OF THE BEDS, INCLUDING MATTRESS & PILLOW PROTECTORS, AND PLACE THEM IN THE WASHING BAGS PROVIDED, ALONG WITH ANY TEA TOWELS AND BATH MATS. Our cleaners will then remove the bags from the property, allowing 72 hours before handling.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES
To allow a thorough clean, and plenty of time for the apartments to air, in line with guidelines from Cornwall County Council, we are changing our arrival and departure times.
PLEASE ARRIVE AFTER 5 PM, AND DEPART BY 9AM. This extra time will allow our cleaners to ensure the dust has settled after you strip the beds, before their entering the apartments, and allows extra cleaning time for the 2 stage clean.
Should you arrive in the area prior to this time, and the cleaners are there, you may ask them for the parking permit so you can park up and go for a wander in the town/village until 5pm, or, if they have completed the clean, you may enter the apartment, but you do so at your own risk.
FAILURE TO COMPLETE THESE TASKS WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF DAMAGE DEPOSITS, AS OUR CLEANERS WILL REQUIRE FURTHER PPE AND TIME TO ENABLE THEM TO STRIP THE BEDDING SAFELY AND REMOVE ANY WASTE SAFELY.
COVID 19….WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE IN YOUR PARTY FALLS ILL?
If, prior to your departure from home, any of your party displays any of the symptoms ;
- High Temperature
- New persistent cough
- Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
PLEASE DO NOT TRAVEL TO CORNWALL.
If, whilst staying at the apartment, any of your party BEGINS TO DISPLAY ANY of these symptoms, PLEASE ALL LEAVE IMMEDIATELY, GO HOME TO SELF ISOLATE AND ORDER A TEST KIT, letting us know, so we can ensure protocols regarding the safety of our staff and future guests are adhered to.
If, for any reason, you are unable to travel, and are required to self isolate at the apartment, you will be liable for the loss of earnings for the apartment should it be unavailable to future guests. If those guests need to be relocated, any additional costs incurred will also be your responsibility. It is therefore advisable, and in your best interest, to take out travel insurance ahead of your trip and ensure that on the onset of any symptoms you vacate the property immediately.
